Fact about Percents!
The word percent, comes from the latin phrase "per centum"( per 100). This is because a percent = x/100. Today we use % as the percent symbol.
I'm not sure if this will make sense without me explaining it aloud, but a helpful way for me to remember that a percent means 'per 100' is that the percent symbol(%) looks like the number 100 because this line(/) upright is the number 1, and the two circles around it are like two 0's, so it makes 100.
