The Many Different Ways to Say Slope

Slope can be defined as:
-rise over run
-the change in y over the change in x
-y2-y1 over x2-x1
-y1-y2 over x1-x2
-the average rate of change

To say "the change in" in mathematical terms, you use the delta sign: ∆.
