F.O.I.L.

foil method is used to multiply two binomials.

F = first
O= outside
I = inner
L = last

    (4m-5)(3m+1)= 4m(3m)=12m^2
    4m(1)= 4m
    -5(3m)=-15m
    -5(1)=-5
    Next you combine the terms to simplify:
    12m^2+4m-15m-5=
    12m^2-11m-5
