  3. My mom made 30 chocolate chip cookies for the bake sale. She made 10 more than my friend. My mom sold 15 of her cookies, which was 5 less than what my friend sold.

    Total: My mom made 30 cookies
    Friend made:20
    How many did my friend sell? : all 20 cookies
    How many did my mom sell? : 15 cookies

  4. Yesterday I ate two pieces of candy. My friend ate two more than I did. My friend ate twice the amount of candy as me. I ate two pieces less than my friend. The ration of the candy I had to the candy she had is 1:2.
    C=Callie
    F=Friend
    F=2+2/2X2
    4-2=C
    Ratio: 2:4=1:2

  5. I ate a slice of an apple and wanted more, so I added 10 more slices to the plate. After, 4 more, I realized I had eaten the difference of 10 and 5. I then discovered that I had eaten almost 2 times the amount I started with! I was happy! Just for fun I wanted to find the quotient of 10( amount of apples I added to the plate) and 5( How many apple slices I ate)!

    1 + 10 = 11
    1 + 4 =5
    2 x 5 = 10
    10 divided by 5 = 2!

  6. I have 1/2 the number of bagels than my friend has. I want more bagels so I increased the amount of bagels by 2. But after I ate 3 bagels I realized that that's not a lot of bagels left over.

    My friend has x amount of bagels.
    I have 1/2x. I add 2. 1/2x + 2.
    Then I ate 3 bagels. (1/2x + 2) - 3.

    If my friend had 6 bagels, then I had 3.
    3 + 2 = 5 bagels. then I ate 3 more.
    5 - 3 = 2 bagels left over

  8. last night i had counted the amount of bottle tabs i had collected. that same night i had increased that number by 10. when i dog came into my room, he had knock all of my tabs across my room. when i had recounted the tabs, i realized that i had lost 5 tabs from my pervious counting. luckly today, my friend is bringing we twice the amount to tabs that i had lost last night. tonight i'm going to go home and divid my tabs by ten to see how many tab bracelets i can make.

    t+10
    (t+10) - 5
    (t+10) + 2(5)
    (t+10)+10/10

  9. I have 3 more popcorn bags than Jonathan. Plus the 2 smaller bags. So the sum of the popcorn bags i have in total is 5 more than Jonathan. If Jonathan has less than 15 but more than twice 6 bags of popcorn and the quotient of his number of bags and seven equals two, what is the number of bags I have?

    I have 3 + 2 = 5 more than Jonathan.
    J-number of poporn bags Jonathan has.
    K-number of bags I have.
    J+5= k
    2X6>J<15 and J/7=2
    J= 14 and 14+5=19 K=19

  10. I was in the clutch and I was the leading scorer. I had twice as many points this game than last game(2p). My turnover to assist ratio was 1:19. I got the ball with one minute left. A weaker defender was guarding me. The difference between me and him was I was quicker and he was slower by 3 seconds(j-3). when i blew pass him he tripped me and he added to his foul total by 1 (f+1). I went to the line hit the shot and we won the game.

  12. Last week Tyler was having a less than(<) rockin party(r). Until somebody showed up with a boombox(b), this multiplied(x) the fun greatly. Non the lease Tyler's party was still bad, because the ratio of boys to girls was bad(12:7), but then 5 more girls showed up to Tyler's now half decent party then making the ratio an ok ratio. Then the only thing missing at the party was the addition (+) of food and drinks, but then I pulled through in the clutch and showed up with 3 bags of chips(f) and 2 liters of coke(l). In all the party wasn't to bad.(even with no help from Tyler)
    r<b(12/7+5)+3f+2l solve for r
    r<b(12/12)+3f+2l
    r<b(1)+3f+2l
    r<1b+3f+2l

  13. I started off with 26 oz of smoothie, but I couldnt finish it all and left about half. How much did I drink (X)?
    26/2=x
    13=x
    x=13 oz of smoothie left over

    If you need 16 strawberries to make a smoothie and you need a certain numbers of blueberries (B) to end up with a 26oz drink with a total of 40 berries, how many blueberries did you use?
    16+B=40
    -16+B=40-16
    B=26 bluberries

    If you have a 29 customers come into your smoothie palace today and you charge (C) amount per smoothie, you end up eith 116 dollars at the end of the day. How much does a smoothie cost?
    29(C)=116
    116/29=C
    C=4 dollars per smoothie.

    If you have 35 customers one day and 27 the next day, what is the difference in customers (Y)
    35-27=Y
    Y=8 customers fewer the next day.
